Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology BV (PMC)
The Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology is with 600 new patients per year the largest European cancer center for children. It is a unique center that has centralised all care and research for children with cancer of the whole Netherlands. The founding directors’ mission of the PMC is to bring the best possible patient care and scientific research together to cure every child with cancer and to provide them with optimum quality of life.
Henk Stunnenberg will be responsible as a Work Package 5 leader for single-cell sequencing of all colon organoids and matched normal tissue samples, given his long-standing track record in large-scale omics data generation and experience with single-cell technology. Moreover, he will also be responsible for the HCA interactions within Work Package 5. Hans Clevers and Anne Rios will contribute their expertise to the organoid derivation in Work Package 1 led by the Hubrecht Institute, and to the single-cell imaging (Work Package 3) and in-depth functional validation of the most interesting targets identified in the disease-centric proof-of-concept studies focusing on colon organoids (Work Package 6).
